Prof. Dr. Rainer-Reginald Miethke
Dr. Miethke is a renowned professor, lecturer, author and scientific expert.
He holds a doctorate in dental medicine, as well as in habilitation, has studied orthodontics at Louisiana State University, U.S.A., and taught orthodontics at Freie Universität Berlin, along with a guest professorship at the Royal Dental College, Århus, Denmark.

During Dr. Miethke's long and distinguished career, he has also served as Chairman of the Department of Orthodontics and Pedodontics, Freie Universität Berlin, of the Department of Orthopedics and Orthodontics, Charité, Humboldt-University, Berlin, Faculty of Dentistry, and of the Department of Orthodontics, Dentofacial Orthopedics and Pediatric Dentistry, Universitätsmedizin Berlin, and as Vice-Dean at the Centre of Oral Medicine.  He is a certified scientific expert for the DFG (German Research Society).

Dr. Miethke is a widely recognized speaker and prolific author, with more than 160 publications and more than 200 national and international lectures to his credit.  He is Editor-in-Chief of Praktische Kieferorthopädie, a German orthodontic journal, and has refereed in numerous professional scientific journals.

Dr. Miethke has taken a leading role in orthodontics in Europe.  He is the acting President of the European Orthodontic Society, and Past-President of two annual conventions of the German Society of Orthodontics, as well as an honorary member and consultant of various Orthodontic Societies and Associations in other countries.

Dr. Paul H. Rigali

Dr. Rigali is currently on the faculty of Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Department of Oral and Developmental Biology. He held previous faculty positions at University of Connecticut, Department of Orthodontics, Quinnipiac College, Department of Physical Therapy, and the Roth-Williams Center for Functional Occlusion, Burlingame, California.  He received his D.D.S. with Clinical Honors from Loyola University College of Dental Surgery, and Certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from Tufts University in 1975.

Dr. Rigali is a frequent lecturer throughout North and South America and Europe. He is an active member in the American Dental Association, and Connecticut State Dental Association, and is Past-President of the Meriden-Wallingford-Cheshire Dental Society. Additionally, Dr. Rigali is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, Tufts Association of Orthodontists, College of Diplomats, American Board of Orthodontists, the Angle Society and the World Federation of Orthodontists.  He has served as a Program Chairman of the Northeast Society of Orthodontists and the NewConn Orthodontic Foundation, and as Past-President of the Roth-Williams International Society of Orthodontists.  Dr. Rigali is also a member of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain Council.

Dr. John Voudouris, Co-Chair

Dr. John Voudouris is a Research Scientist, and maintains a private orthodontic clinical practice in Toronto for over 23 years.  He is currently a member of the Division of Biological Sciences as Visiting Scholar, and teaches Craniofacial Growth and Development combined with Biomechanics at the Orthodontic Graduate Department, New York University, College of Dentistry, NY., 1997-2007, Associate in Dentistry Instructor, University of Toronto, Department of Orthodontics 1985-1990.  He developed the concept of Growth Relativity for the mechanism of Mandibular Growth Modification.

He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery, DDS, degree in 1983 and his specialty in orthodontics diploma, DOrth, in 1987 both from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry.  In 1988 he received his Master of Science, MSc(D), degree at the University of Toronto, Department of Orthodontics in Craniofacial Growth Remodeling and Neuromuscular Activity.

Dr. Voudouris has been honored with a number of prestigious awards, including the University of Toronto, Department of Orthodontics, Aaron Posen Award for Clinical Excellence and Creativity, and the most highly regarded American Association of Orthodontists research prize, The Milo Hellman Research Award.  He has been nominated into the Edward H. Angle Northeastern Society. He is past president of the Toronto Orthodontic Study Club and the current President of the ISOS.

Dr. Voudouris is author of the first formal textbook on Interactive Self-Ligation Biomechanics, and has published many clinical and scientific journal articles worldwide.  He has lectured extensively in Canada, the United States, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Greece, Mexico, Brazil, and Colombia South America.

John Voudouris is the researcher and developer of the IN-OVATION Interactive Self-ligating System and maintains several pieces of intellectual property for new orthodontic technologies.  He is recognized as an expert internationally in the field of Dentofacial Orthopedics and Interactive Self-ligation orthodontics enjoying hockey, skiing, tennis, soccer, reading, and travel with his wife and son.

Dr. Mladen M. Kuftinec, D.M.D., Sc.D.
Dr. Kuftinec received his ScD from MIT, and D.M.D. from Harvard School of Dental Medicine, in 1971 and 1972 respectively.  He holds a doctorate in Medical Stomatology, and certificates in Public Health Nutrition from the Institute for Nutrition of Central America & Panama, and in Orthodontics from Harvard School of Dental Medicine.

In an academic career spanning twenty-five years, Dr. Kuftinec has thoughtfully guided generations of orthodontists in the importance of sound science and innovative new technologies. Following a four year Associate Professorship in Orthodontics, Virginia Commonwealth University, he served as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Orthodontics, Chairman of the Department of Growth and Special Care, and Director of the Graduate Program at the University of Louisville between 1976 and 1990. Since that time, Dr. Kuftinec has been Professor and Chairman and, since 1996, is Director (Orthodontics) at NYU.

Dr. Kuftinec is certified with the American Board of Nutrition, and the American Board of Orthodontics, and has been honored with several highly regarded research awards: the Edward H. Hatton Research Award from the International Association of Dental Research, San Francisco, CA, the Special Research Award from the Congress of Students in Medicine and Stomatology, Nis, Yugoslavia, and the Doc McNulty Memorial Award for Research.

Since 1999, Dr. Kuftinec is an international lecturer, and has trained over 300 currently practicing orthodontists, many of whom hold important academic positions throughout the world.
